From Untitled Album

If you search way way back a tthe start of this blog I got my first Pinholga and was so excited about taking shots.. Well they sucked!! So I put the Pinholga way and left it for dead. Well my friend Craig wanted me to take some shots for his CD and decided to dust it off and give it another go. I dug what came out of it.. Here are a few shots..

Ok this last one wasnt taken with the pinhole camera. It was taken with my Canon Digital Rebel with a Holga lens on it. This next pic is really friggin' creepy cause it looks like my friend is hanging by the neck..

Getting Bored

From 12_15_08

I know I haven't posted in a long while.. been busy and hadnt been taking a lot of pics.. So decided to go out this past weekend and shoot.. frankly I am getting kinda bored with my surroundings. If anyone knows of any good locations in the Cincinnati area, let me know.. I took out my Holga 120N and My Canon Digi Rebel. The shots you see here are from the Holga.

Ok, now this next picture, i believe is my best picture ever. I showed it to my wife and my friend Scott, whom i respect and will shoot me straight.. I was so excited about this picture but i guess they didn't share my enthusiasm. I guess that is what is beautiful about photography and art. One person could look at it like it was a masterpiece and another will look at the same piece likeit was a turd. I don't care.. i think this is my favorite pic..

I am sure you hate it also.. Oh well.. This next one is my second favorite pic. By the way, I shot all of these pics using the bulb mode and also hand held. I dig the effect. To me it looks like a surreal painting.

I am slow at adopting new ideas when it comes to my Holga.. I waited a long time before I started developing my own film.. I waited a long time to paint the inside of my Holga, yada yada yada.. Well I finally got around to shooting 35mm film in my Holga 120N. I thouhgt, why bother.. I have a 135BC so.. But my firend Nathan from Canada shoots awesome sprocket hole pics with his 120N so i said.. Why not try it.. Well I may never pic up my 135bc again.. (Actually I know i will)..

You can check out a step by step video on how to hook your Holga 120N up to shoot 35mm and get some kick ass sprocket hole pics.. Just click here.

Big Hand, Little Hand

Free Web Site Counter
I know this is a blog to show off my pictures but i had to include this one. My wife Crystal took this of me holding my sons hand. She took it with my Holga 135bc with some Kodak black and white film, that you process in color chemicals. (I can't remember the actual name of the film) My son and I stuck our hand in a stream of sunlight coming through the window on our family room. This explains why the background is black. Of course I made the blacks much deeper in Photoshop and added alot of contrast. I wanted my hand to look old so you can see all the lines in my hand.. Not a pretty sight but effective.. The pic is a tad soft.. But i kind of like it that way..

The thing I really like to do is to go through old pics i shot.. I finally was able to catalog the ones i could find.. Came across this one.. I really like this.. This was on my Marriage/honeymoon in Hawaii.. Shot with my Canon Rebel XT.. What I like most about this pic is the people. everyone is kinda doing something different. Would look almost tribal if it weren't for the lamp post in the corner.. Maybe i should crop that out? What do you think?

Holga 120N in Bulb Mode

Free Web Site Counter
Ok.. I don't know if I described the title of this blog corrrectly but what i did was set the switch ont he bottom of the Holga to "B" so the shutter would stay open for as long as I kept the button pressed. Now I didn't keep it open for long but definitely longer than if it was in "N" mode which i assume stands for normal. 1/125th of a second.. I think tht is the deal, please email me if I botched this.. Anyways.. I like the results.. Very eerie, yet dreamy.. Or should I say nightmarish.. How about just cool.

Thanks for looking.. As always, all comments welcomed. Email me.
